Communications Associate, Glamour Gals

GlamourGals Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that inspires conversation and companionship through complimentary beauty makeovers given by young volunteers to seniors living in residential care. The program fosters these intergenerational connections on a national scale by organizing a network of volunteer chapters and inspiring empathy among volunteers to alleviate the issue of elder isolation.
The Communications Associate reports to the Program Manager. This associate implements all communications across marketing channels with a focus on social media and email, as well as the GlamourGals website, press releases, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Social media (all platforms) – planning, designing, implementing and corresponding on a daily basis
Understand the program calendar and translate it into messaging strategy across channels - Design, within brand guidelines and templates, and write copy for all posts
- Schedule and post across all channels
- Actively engage with young volunteers, alumni, GG stakeholders, and followers on social media
- Identify and collaborate with partners on social media campaigns
- Strategize and execute a plan to grow social media following
- Apply social media communications plan to other channels, adjusting language and messaging based on the audience (young volunteers, supporters, etc)
- Execute program initiatives and leadership materials
- Create communications strategy and build program content for virtual events such as Volunteer Mental Health Summit, Glam Camp, GLTI: Leadership Training, Chapter Leader Meetings, Power Brunch, GlamMay – Scholarship Awards and other trainings
- GlamMay: Assist with the scholarship application process and volunteer awards
- Mass email correspondence
- Monthly e-news to supporters
- Major campaign announcements, invites, and updates (Giving Tuesday, Dough4good, etc)
- Volunteer/Chapter outreach
- Additional communications responsibilities
- Outreach for press: Pitch national, regional, local or campaign press stories
- Marketing, communication, and event support as requested by CEO
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent communication and visual storytelling skills
- Strong writing, with an emphasis on short-form copywriting
- Inherent love for social media
- Excellent attention to detail
Preferred:
- Knowledge of software: Buffer, social platforms, Adobe, Canva, MailChimp, Squarespace, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, video editing software
- Ability to work with team members and independently
- Excellent organization and ability to move multiple projects forward simultaneously
- Ability to identify trends and connect broad initiatives to the GlamourGals mission
- Design programs including Adobe Design programs, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, or Canva.
- Experience with Salesforce or Pivotal tracker a plus.

The Sr. Director of Global Merchandising, Mono-brand acts as the credible voice of Global Merchandising in Crocs branded environments whether brick-and-mortar or digital, partner-operated or directly owned. They set the global merchandising vision, refine seasonal and annual strategies, and translate these into robust global assortment and market differentiation plans.
The ideal candidate is agile—they can move quickly between proven best practices and unproven innovations and execute process and tactical changes strategically. They are students of the past, experts in the now, and can divine future vision and set direction with ease even in ambiguity. They think big picture, connect dots easily, and can translate strategy into action. They stay ahead of the competition and move at the pace of their consumer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Merchandising:
Create, innovate, and implement global tools and processes that drive brand cohesion, and alignment to the strategic merchandising plan.
Establish global channel assortments that maximize brand cohesion and deliver commercial success at top and bottom lines.
Communicate clearly, honestly, and regularly with global and regional cross-functional partners on sales trends, growth opportunities, and barriers to be overcome.
Analyze the business, test hypotheses, and drive actions that will capitalize on opportunities and mitigate weakness.
Counsel regional merchants on alignment to the global assortment, approve regional exceptions, and closely manage depth and breadth of assortment and inventory investment.
Manage the allocation of collaborations in mono-brand channels and coordinate with cross-functional partners on aligned activation plans and playbooks.
Product:
Communicate a clear point of view on individual SKU commerciality and contribute to the finalization of the global product line including colorways, suggested retail prices, key marketing stories, and key marketing SKU’s.
Ensure comp products and volume are protected where vital and newness will drive incremental growth.
Maintain a current and in-depth understanding of the retail and digital landscape and identify and validate product and activation needs, opportunities and gaps.
Go to Market:
Drive the alignment and execution of seasonal key stories in product assortment, in-store and on-site, including through the leadership of Global Visual Merchandising.
Partner with Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Creative and Go-to-Market teams to ensure shot-lists, visual directives, and creative briefs support key brand stories and key assortments consistently and will bring them to life with imaginative innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
College or University degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
12+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, product creation and/or retail; footwear experience preferred
Digital or Retail merchandising experience required
Proven leadership and people management skills
Proven track record of developing and executing a successful merchandising strategy
Exceptional retail math skills
Demonstrated experience and success with strategic planning and business planning
Proven ability to successfully work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment
Knowledge of international fashion/trends with the ability to translate into commercial concepts
Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Fluency in English required
