The Intern Queen Party is HERE! And this year…. let’s go back to basics. Let’s remember WHY we started doing this event in New York City ELEVEN YEARS ago!?
Back then, it was about three things – and these themes continue to follow us into year 11. ENERGY, CELEBRATION, and INSPIRATION.
It was always about the internship ENERGY that I felt so many summers ago as an intern living at the NYU dorms and the energy I still feel whenever I talk to young people interning in NYC. As our event grew, it became about the energy not only in New York but in so many other great places (DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Nashville, Toronto). And now, about the internship energy across the globe.
It’s always about CELEBRATION and recognizing the hard work that so many young people put in to their internships year-round (and specifically over the summer). And with the year we’ve all had, we need to celebrate college students, the challenges they’ve faced, the obstacles they’ve overcome, and their ability to successfully intern AND study virtually – unbelievable.
And finally – INSPIRATION. Like I mentioned, it’s these young people, it’s THE INTERNS who really inspire me. They don’t realize that while I’m giving them advice, they are giving me so much more. They make me excited about the future, they inspire me, they educate me, and they help me be the best version of myself.
And so here we are about to do it again, still virtually, but who knows what the future holds. Right now, I’m getting ridiculously teary eyed and wanting to tag every single Intern Queen team member, every Intern Queen campus ambassador, and every single Intern Queen family member – I want to hug you all, look you in the eye, and just say THANK YOU. We do this because of you – because for 11 years, you’ve shown up.
See you on Tuesday, July 20th at 4pm PST/7pm EST with our DREAM panel, featuring executives from Dunkin’, Warner Bros, Sony Music, and MORE! We are going to DIG IN with them to understand their secrets to success and how YOU can get a job with their organizations and STAND OUT in the job and internship application process.
